Description

Allows you to set a custom icon for each individual forum.
You can choose between:
1. Custom Image (path)
2. Font Awesome icon
Font Awesome CSS is loaded from a CDN of your choice (Cloudflare, jsDelivr, or Official)
so it does NOT consume disk space or bandwidth on your own hosting.
Installation
------------
1. Upload the contents of the "Upload" folder to your MyBB root directory.
2. Go to Admin CP → Configuration → Plugins.
3. Find "MyForumIcons" and click Install & Activate.
4. (Recommended) Go to Configuration → Settings → MyForumIcons Settings
and choose your preferred Font Awesome CDN source + version.
Upgrading from 1.0 / 1.1
------------------------
1. Upload the new files (overwrite).
2. Deactivate → Activate the plugin (this adds the new database column
and creates the settings group).
3. Existing image icons will continue to work (type defaults to "image").
How to use Font Awesome
-----------------------
1. In Configuration → Settings → MyForumIcons Settings:
- Enable Font Awesome = Yes
- Choose CDN Source (Cloudflare recommended for free hosting)
- Choose Version (6.7.2 is a good modern default)
2. Edit a forum (Forums & Posts → Forum Management → Edit):
- Icon Type → Font Awesome
- Custom Forum Icon → paste the class or full <i> tag
Example: fa-solid fa-comments
or: <i class="fa-solid fa-comments"></i>
Important Notes
---------------
- The automatic template modification targets the default MyBB theme
template "forumbit_depth2_forum".
- If you use a custom theme, you may need to manually add:
{$forum['myforumicon_override']}
{$forum['myforumicon']}
next to the forum status icon.
- Font Awesome CSS is only loaded on pages that actually display at least
one Font Awesome forum icon (very light on resources).
- Official CDN only supports up to Font Awesome 5. For FA 6/7 use
Cloudflare or jsDelivr.
